How much water is in a glass?

Quite often, the phrase “take a glass of water” is used in culinary or household recipes, but if during the Soviet times all the glasses were the same, now the housewives face a logical question: how much water is in the glass, because the glasses are different. We will tell you about how much water is placed in a particular glass.

How much water is placed in a glass

In the good old faceted glass, known to each of us since childhood, is placed 200 ml of water, if you pour it to the rim and 250 ml of water, if you pour it to the brim. A thick glass with a rim, which is also called product number 24, contains 200 ml of water, if you pour it to the rim. Top of the glass is usually not filled with water.

If you have an old glass with diamond facets or a small glass with faceted glassshaped edges, also referred to as product number 42, then you should take into account that they hold 200 ml of water poured to the brim.

It is also worth noting that it has been experimentally proven that the weight of water coincides with its volume. Accordingly, 200 and 250 grams of water are placed in the glasses we have listed.

In addition to the listed classical glass glasses, in modern culinary there are other types of them, for example, a multi-glass for a slow cooker, a glass for a bread machine and any other kitchen appliances. Usually they hold 300 ml of water to the border and 350 ml of water to the top. You can make sure that these figures are correct by reading the instructions for the device or carefully looking at the measuring scale, which is usually drawn on the glass itself.

Water plays a significant role in the life and health of every person. That is why it is important to drink a certain amount of water every day.
